JAN SMITHERS
Artistic Advisor

Jan received her extensive professional dance training in New York City. Her impressive resumé includes Broadway and television performances. For many years an instructor of Ballet, several of her students have been accepted for roles with the Boston Ballet Company, including two girls chosen to dance the part of Clara in Boston Ballet’s Nutcracker. Jan staged and choreographed the successful FSPA production of The Nutcracker in 1987,1988 and 1990. She was Instructor of Ballet and Rhythm and Movement at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, where she served as head of the Dance Department from 1985-1993.

DOROTHY DELUTIS BEATON
Artistic Advisor

Dorothy Beaton began dancing at her mother’s DeLutis School of Dance. She studied in Boston, at Jacob’s Pillow and in New York and attended the Boston Conservatory where she majored in Dance. Mrs. Beaton danced professionally with the Christopher Ryder Revue and toured New England with "Dance Makers." She has taught at the DeLutis School where she was co-owner and co-operator. She was on the faculty of the American Academy of Dance from 1987-1992. She is a member of Dance Masters of New England for whom she served as 1st Vice President; Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston, and founding member of the Southeastern Massachusetts Dance Alliance. She is an adjudicator for National Dance Competitions. Mrs. Beaton is best recognized for her work with young children.

TRACY BAUER
Instructor of Jazz and Children's Ballet

Tracy Bauer earned her B.S. from Miami University and has studied ballet and jazz since a young age. She is studying for certification from the Dance Masters of America Teacher Training Program  and has completed a Concentrated Course for Dance Teachers with Rosemarie Boyden. A former volunteer with the Boston Ballet Citydance Program, Ms. Bauer has also taught Creative Movement at The New Art Center in Newton.. She has performed with Moving West Repertory Dance Theater and continues to train extensively with modern jazz instructor Andy Taylor-Blenis.

ROSEMARIE DELUTIS BOYDEN
Junior Dance Company Director, Instructor of Tap

Raised in a dance school atmosphere in Mansfield, Massachusetts, Rosemarie DeLutis Boyden received her early training from her mother who established the DeLutis School of Dance in 1939. Her extensive background in dance and music was followed by concentrated study in Boston and New York City and as a dance major at the Boston Conservatory. Her teaching resume includes co-director of the DeLutis School until 1987, and subsequently Dance Department Chair of the Cape Cod Conservatory. Wishing to share her experience, Rosemarie has authored and instructs an in-depth Dance Teachers' Curriculum Course with proven methods and material for classroom and stage. Current freelance ventures include lecturing to college dance majors, teaching dance to musical theater students, private studio consultations, an accelerated master class schedule and adjudicating dance competitions on a regional and national level. Her longevity in the field has produced many students who are enjoying careers in the performance or teaching of dance. Professional affiliations include Dance Teachers' Club of Boston, Inc. and Dance Masters of America. In addition she is a registered adjudicator of the National Dance Council of America. Rosemarie has taught for many Dance Teacher Organizations and currently serves on the faculty of the prestigious DMA Teacher Training Course, a concentrated week long seminar held at the University of Buffalo attracting teachers from across the United States and Canada.

BRANDI LOCCIATTO
Modern

B.F.A. in Dance (University of Massachusetts at Amherst); teaching experience (ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, lyric, hip-hop) at Steps OFF Broadway Incorporated, School of Dance Arts, Dance Class, The Performing Arts Center of Metrowest, Beaver Summer Programs, and C.G. McDonough Arts Magnet School; performing experience with Moving West Dance Repertory Theatre, University Dancers (UMASS Amherst), Turtle Lane Playhouse, Milford Theatre Guild and Reagle Players.

LISA LOWEY
Senior Dance Company Director, Instructor of Ballet and Pointe

Lisa Lowey began dancing at the age of eight in Pittsfield under the direction of Madeline Canterella Culpo. She became an apprentice to the Berkshire Ballet in 1974 and starred as Clara in the company’s first production of "The Nutcracker." Other appearances included the ballets Giselle, Copellia, Les Sylphides and Cinderella. In 1979, Lisa earned a scholarship to the National Choreography Conference of the National Association for Regional Ballet in Dayton, Ohio. Ms. Lowey was a member of the Dance Department faculty at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts from 1987 to 1992 and currently serves as instructor of ballet and pointe.

DIANE DUBOIS MANZOLI
Instructor of Children's Ballet and Rhythm & Movement

Diane DuBois Manzoli received her first dance training from her mother, a respected dance teacher in the Boston area. She continued her dance training at the Boston Conservatory of Music, the aBallet Theater of New York, and with many outstanding teachers from Europe and the U.S. A former professional dancer, Diane is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston, where she is a graduate of their Teacher Training Course, and has a degree in Child Development from Lasell Junior College. She is currently serving on their teacher examining board and for many years was the director of her own studio in Needham, The DuBois School of Dance.

HEATHER MCQUISTON
Instructor of Jazz and Hip Hop

Heather McQuiston, FSPA Instructor of Dance, earned her BA in Dance and Communication at the University of New York at Buffalo. She danced with the international tour of Sesame Street Live and has performed and choreographed in Buffalo, Boston and Omaha. Ms. McQuiston has taught jazz in Colorado, Massachusetts and at the University of Buffalo with specialties in Hip-Hop, Character and Improvisation. Her jazz and modern instructors included Tom Ralabate, Roland Dupre, Lisa Holtz, Tony Coppola, Michael Rooney, Matt Stone and Adrienne Mincz.

STEPHANIE MOY
Instructor of Ballet and Pointe

Stephanie Moy is former soloist with the Boston Ballet Company. Her principal teachers include Ana Roje, Tatiana Babushkina, E. Virginia Williams, Woytek Lowski, Violette Verdy and Wayne Stewarte. In addition to her 14-year tenure with Boston Ballet, Ms. May has been principal dancer with Spokane Ballet Company, Festival Ballet of Rhode Island and the Boston Dance Company and guest artist with, among others, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Erie Civic Ballet and Ballet Theater of Boston. Her performance resumé is complemented by staging, choreography, costuming and extensive teaching experience. Her teaching experience includes the Boston Ballet School, Harvard Summer Dance Program and Festival Ballet Company.

CLYDE NANTAIS
Instructor of Jazz and Ballet

Clyde Nantais holds a B.F.A. degree from the Boston Conservatory and a Master of Education degree from Temple University. From 1971-1974 Mr. Nantais performed leading roles in Equity summer stock and dinner theatre productions of such Broadway musicals as West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, and Guys and Dolls. He then danced with the Boston Ballet for seven years and taught in its school for seventeen years. From 1980 to 1988 he was Ballet Master for the Boston Conservatory Dance Theatre. He has also been Ballet Master for the Berkshire Ballet and the Pioneer Valley Ballet. As a choreographer, Mr. Nantais has staged over 50 original works for more than 40 companies or schools internationally. Mr. Nantais was the principal ballet teacher at the National Institute of the Arts in Taipei, Taiwan from 1990-92. Currently, Mr. Nantais is the Executive Director of the Boston Dance Company Studios in Cambridge, MA and Associate Director of the Boston Dance Company.

KELLIE STAMP
Instructor of Jazz and Tap

Kellie Stamp has diverse background and training in the performing arts. A graduate of Stonehill College, she recently completed a graduate degree from the Performing Arts Division at Emerson College. Kellie has served as Board of Directors member for the Stonehill Theater Company, Director/Choreographer for the Westport Junior Miss Scholarship Program, and Instructor at the On Stage Academy of the Performing Arts. She received Honorary Recognition from the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Senate, and City of Fall River for program she designed and implemented entitled "Artists Volunteering for the Arts". Kellie is an advocate for Americans for the Arts and is a member of Alpha Psi Omega.

RILLA TOLMIE
Instructor of Ballet

Rilla Tolmie began dance training as a child with Theresa DuBois. and continued with Boston Ballet, BU, with Ballet Russe prima ballerina Madame Ana Roje, Lithuanian ballerina Tatiana Babushkina and Miecyslaw Morawski of the Kirov Ballet. In 1970 she was invited to dance with Martha Baird and Gus Solomon, Jr. in Ms. Baird's company "Movement, Sound, Light in Concen." She represented Massachusetts in the Miss USA-UNIVERSE television special for CBS network in 1975. and took her dance experience to the runway where she worked for fifteen years as a high fashion model. Her stage and television resume includes frequent appearances on most of the Boston area’s major networks, and choreography and runway work for New York and Boston designers. Ms. Tolmie was dance consultant and choreographer for the Beverly Powers Agency for ten years. She has choreographed and performed locally in dance production numbers of Oklahoma, The King and I and South Pacific. Her dance teaching experience also includes the Green Meadows School, the Needham Arts Center and Mary French Dance Studio.

JEAN WENZEL
Instructor of Tap

Jean Wenzel is originally from Minnesota. She began performing in Boston in 1964 after training and dancing professionally throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. She appeared with such greats as Jimmy Durante, Mitzi Gaynor, Johnny Mathis, Ben Vareen and numerous others. The past 15 years she has been on the staff at Dean College teaching tap, musical theatre and choreography. She has choreographed numerous musicals including Anything Goes, Gypsy, Steppin’ Out and Godspell. Ms. Wenzel is among the most sought-after adjudicators and Master teachers in the country, traveling to over 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada. She teaches and directs the dance program for the Great Woods Educational Forum. She is past president of the N.E. Chapter of Dance Masters and president of the Southeastern Mass. Dance Alliance. Ms. Wenzel produced the video "Why Dance?" and recently choreographed "A Salute to Broadway" for Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital.

ELIZABETH WINSLOW
Instructor of Tap

Elizabeth Winslow received a B.F.A in Dance with Children's Dance Emphasis at the University of Hartford/Hartt School She has taught at the Dancing Arts Center, The School of Hartford Ballet, The Family Center, and Farmington Dance Center at the Body Station. Elizabeth's choreography credits include Sweet Charity, Folk Dance, Mini-Dance, My Silent Field as well as works for the Discover Dance Outreach Program and University of Hartford. She has performed with the Choreogrpaher's Group and Kelly Donovan and Dancers in Cambridge.
