Children's Musical Theater

Children's Musical Theater for grades 2 and 3 is an introduction to basic skills in acting, singing and dance. No previous training or experience is required. This class is performance-oriented with good attendance required in addition to learning parts at home when necessary.

Recommended dance classes:
Beginner Jazz, Beginner Tap, Ballet at appropriate level

Musical Theater I

Musical Theater I for grades 4 and 5 is a class in which acting, singing and dance techniques and styles will be reinforced and explored. Involved performance pieces and materials will be experienced by students. Good attendance and commitment to learning more advanced materials required.

Recommended dance classes:
Jazz I (teacher evaluation), Tap I (teacher evaluation), Ballet at appropriate level

Musical Theater II

Musical Theater II for grades 6 and 7 builds on the skills learned in both Children's Musical Theater and Musical Theater I with greater emphasis placed on performance preparation.

Recommended dance classes:
Teen Jazz, Beginner Teen Tap, Beginner Teen Ballet or Ballet IIIB

Musical Theater III

Skills for better singing, acting and dancing will be taught through various performance goals set up in this course for grades 8-12. Dramatic scenes, monologues, musical excerpts from musical theater repertoire, audition and improvisatory techniques, and styles of dance will be included. Performance goals are based on a strong commitment to work on materials outside of class and excellent attendance.

Recommended dance classes:
Teen Jazz, Beginner Teen Tap, Beginner Teen Ballet or Ballet IIIB
