Private Lessons
The FSPA Music Department offers private lessons in all instruments. Scheduling for private lessons is done in order of date of registration and according to teacher availability. Student recitals are scheduled throughout the year. Students may elect to play for an evaluation performance in June. The performance evaluations and recitals are recommended but not required. Students are encouraged to participate in ensemble work and theory class to supplement private lessons. Written evaluations are issued at the end of the school year.
Instrumental Ensembles
Instrumental ensembles are organized to prepare for studio and/or public performances. A coaching fee may apply.
Program of Pop, Rock and Jazz Studies
Instruction in Jazz and popular music, with emphasis on improvisation and performance, is offered for all instruments at all levels. Students are encouraged to participate in ensemble work and music theory class in addition to private lessons.
