Pointe

Pointe I

Goal: This class may only be attended by students in level IIIA or higher. The first part of the year will be given to further preparation technically for standing on pointe. Attendance twice a week at the Ballet IIIA level is required.

Prerequisites: An audition is required. Students must be at least 11 years old.

Pointe II

Goal: As part of the Ballet IV program this pointe class will depend on the students’ ability. Given that sufficient strength and technique have developed, the class will include center work and possibly some variations or dances. Attendance twice a week at the Ballet IV level is required.

Prerequisite: An audition is required.

Pointe III

Goal: Pointe III is offered by invitation or audition to students of strong Ballet technique. Classes may include choreography, repertoire and variations commensurate with students’ skills to challenge them technically and artistically.

Prerequisite: An audition is required.

Pointe II/III

Goal: A combined level pointe class.
